A Week Gone By

Well, this week has been fairly awesome. Monday was CSS Reboot day and there was the imaginatively titled ‘FreeFest’ free music festival on at our student union from 1pm until late, followed up by PostFest in the actual union building. I managed to release the site in a rush on the Monday morning before heading out to FreeFest in the afternoon.

Despite the weather not being great on the Monday FreeFest was quite good. If you’re into metal you might want to check out Dual Decay. They headlined the festival and while I’m not a huge metal fan myself, they were quite good (and I’m not just saying that because I know the drummer).

After Monday the weather picked up and it’s been warm and sunny ever since (although as I begin to write this it’s gone overcast and started to rain) which has led to a fair few games of football.

A couple of days ago I was speaking with Jason Gardner who told me that the web design company he’s working at were looking for a new web designer and that he’d recommended me. After chatting with his Boss over Yahoo and Skype we’ve managed to work something out and so it looks like I’ll be freelancing with them on an upcoming project. Major thanks to Jason for that.

To top it all off last night my friend’s girlfriend said that her and a friend were willing to pay me to design two sites for them as well, so things are looking pretty good at the minute.

Oh, except for the fact that I have a coursework deadline in one and a half weeks and neither me, nor any of my group members, know how to do it.

Speaking of CSS Reboot, here are some of my favourites:
